Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program(OINP) issued invitations to apply to 21 Entrepreneurs in a recent draw held on 26^th Aug’2020, under the OINP entrepreneurs stream. Applicants who have submitted their expression of interest profile between 22^nd Nov’19 to 21^st Aug’20 were considered for this draw.

The eligible applicants with a score of between 144 to 200 were invited to submit the complete application.

ONIP Entrepreneur Stream, offers a permanent Resident status to foreign Entrepreneurs who are willing to establish or purchase a Business in Ontario Province.

Who can apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program under entrepreneur stream:

To apply for Ontario Entrepreneur program an applicant must meet the mandatory requirements as mentioned below:

1.  2 years full time Business Experience or Senior Manager Experience in the last 5 years.

2.  Net-worth

If the proposed business would be located:

• within the Greater Toronto Area(GTA) an applicant must have a net worth of CAD 800,000 and above.
• out of the Greater Toronto Area(OGTA) an applicant must have a net worth of CAD 400,000 and above.

For proposed business in the ICT or digital communications sector, irrespective of location, applicant must have a minimum net worth of CAD 400,000.

3. Personal investment funds and minimum equity

If the proposed business would be located:

• within the GTA, an applicant must make a minimum personal investment of CAD 600,000 and must control at least one-third of the business equity.
• OGTA, an applicant must make a minimum personal investment of CAD 200,000 and  must control at least 1/3rd of the business equity.

If the proposed business is in the ICT or digital communications sector irrespective of location, an applicant must make a minimum personal investment of CAD 200,000 and control at least 1/3rd of the business equity.

4. Active involvement on an ongoing basis.

5. Primary purpose of Capital Investment.

6. Full time job creation for Canadian Citizens and PR holders.

7. Additional requirements if purchasing an existing business.
